POSITION/QUALIFICATIONS


 ACTIVITY THERAPY    (1) ACTIVITY THERAPIST INTERN– PER DIEM, DAY SHIFT:Currently enrolled in a program in Recreational, Occupational, Music, Art or Dance Therapy.  Prior experience with inpatient psychiatric population preferred.  Ability to assess the age specific needs for all patients and the capability to work with adolescents and adults.  CPR certification required.

(1) ACTIVITY THERAPIST– FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT: Possesses a degree in Recreational, Occupational, Music, Art or Dance Therapy.  Prior experience with inpatient psychiatric population preferred.  Ability to assess the age specific needs for all patients and the capability to work with adolescents and adults.  CPR certification required.

ADMINISTRATION  

CHCM INTERN PROGRAM: An exciting opportunity awaits for select individuals seeking to gain experience in health care management with College Hospital Costa Mesa. This position will work directly with the Senior Administration team providing support and assistance to various projects and assignments. The chosen candidates will be able to shadow various health care administrators, attend management meetings and observe senior team leadership.  This is a great opportunity to see and experience firsthand what is involved in the administration of College Hospital Costa Mesa. The internship requires 8+ hours per week and 90-day commitment depending on position.  We do not accept student-for-credit volunteers.  This is a non-paid position.  Letter of recommendation will be provided upon completion of internship. Qualifications: Must be an undergraduate or already with a degree; some positions require a Master's level student. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work independently, prioritize and follow-through on assignments. Must possess good customer-service skills and act in a professional manner. Proficient in Word, Microsoft and Excel. Strong adherence to CHCM HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines and regulations required. Candidate must be flexible, and possess a positive attitude. Experience in an office environment working as part of a team.

 

ADMITTING    (2)PATIENT REGISTRATION SPECIALIST- PER DIEM, VARIED SHIFT: Working knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal regulations as they apply to admissions process is preferred. Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) as they apply to admissions process is preferred. Good customer service and computer skills.  Excellent people skills and able to remain calm under pressure.  College Hospital Costa Mesa Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire.  
 CASE MANAGEMENT   

 (1) LVN – FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT: Maintains professional license as an LVN.  Must have adequate experience in a psychiatric and/or medical/surgical hospital.  Maturity, flexibility, leadership qualities, professionalism, strong clinical skills, communication skills and decision-making skills are required.

 (1) LVN – PER DIEM, DAY SHIFT: Maintains professional license as an RN/LVN, LPT,LCSW or MFT.  Must have adequate experience in a psychiatric and/or medical/surgical hospital.  Maturity, flexibility, leadership qualities, professionalism, strong clinical skills, communication skills and decision-making skills are required.

COSTA MESA

 

 

 

(1) STAFF RN – PER DIEM, VARIED SHIFT:  Current, valid State of California R.N. license.Ability to assess the age specific needs of adult patients, ages 18+. Current CPR certification.MAB is required within 90 days of hire.Effective verbal and written communication in English.Previous psychiatric/chemical dependency treatment experience preferred.

 (1) CHARGE RN – FULL TIME, TEMPORARY POSITION: Current, valid State of California R.N. license. Ability to assess the age specific needs of adult patients, 18+. Current CPR certification. MAB test completed within 90 days of hire. Effective verbal and written communication in English. Previous psychiatric/chemical dependency treatment experience preferred. ( position will be temporary coverage) 


HIM
 (1) HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT TECH- FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT: RHT or equivalent training and experience preferred.  Capable of evaluating information in medical record against verifiable criteria; i.e., Medical Staff By-Laws, Joint Commission Standards, Title 22 Standards.  Attention to detail.  
LABORATORY  

  (1) CLINICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT– PER DIEM, VARIED SHIFT: Must have basic knowledge of biomedical science for the performance of pre-testing preparations in all laboratory areas.  Must be able to type and operate basic office equipment and be familiar with computer operation.  A familiarity with the principles of basic laboratory equipment used in pre-testing is preferred.  Must maintain a high degree of accuracy.  CA Phlebotomy certificate or proof of submission of all requirements to CDHS is mandatory. BCLS required within 90 days.  Six months experience in acute care facility preferred.

(1) CLINICAL SUPERVISOR, FULL TIME DAY SHIFT: Licensed Clinical Psychologist or LCSW.A minimum of one year experience with inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric care. Familiar with the philosophy of partial hospitalization and current Medicare standards .Ability to assess the age specific needs for severely mentally ill adult patients, ages 18+.CPR & NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) required within 90 days of hire.

MED/SURG

 

(1) STAFF RN – FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT: Current CA R.N. license required.  One (1) year previous clinical experience in medical and surgical nursing preferred.  Ability to assess the age specific needs for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.  BCLS required.   ACLS required within 90 days of hire.   Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire.

(1) LVN– FULL TIME, NOC SHIFT: Current valid license to practice vocational nursing in the State of California.  One (1) year acute care experience preferred.  Ability to assess the age specific needs of all patients.  BLS required.  ACLS required within 90 days of hire.  Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire.     

(1)CNA– PER DIEM, DAY SHIFT: Certified as a nursing assistant in California or nursing student beyond the first year.  Prefer experience and training as a nursing assistant in an acute care hospital.  Must be physically capable of delivering all aspects of patient care.  Ability to assess the age specific needs of adolescents, adults and geriatrics.  BCLS required.  Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire. 

 (1) UNIT CLERK- FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT (TEMPORARY POSITION):Current and valid certified nursing assistant certification and one (1) year acute care experience.  Attention to detail, accuracy, organization of tasks, good interpersonal skills, ability to use calculator (not necessarily by touch). Professional image, good telephone skills, initiative.  BCLS required, EKG interpreting skills preferred.

NURSING ADMINISTRATION  

 DRIVER – PER DIEM, DAY SHIFT: Must have a 4-door vehicle. Must have a valid CA Driver License with good DMV record. Must have current, valid motor vehicle insurance with minimum coverage requirements. CPR and MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification must be completed within 90 days from hire. Knowledge of area roads and freeways and an understanding of vehicle performance, maintenance and safety. Flexibility, reliability, professional image and guest relations skills. Motivated to be directly involved with patients. Must be able to assist and identify the needs of patients during transportation.

 STAFF RN (FLOAT) – FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT (ADULT UNIT): Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of California.  Ability to assess the age specific needs of the patients per unit population.  BCLS required.  Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire.

STAFF RN (Breaker Nurse) – FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT: Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of California.  Ability to assess the age specific needs of the patients per unit population.  BCLS required.  Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire.

STAFF RN – FULL TIME, DAY & NOC SHIFT (ADOLESCENT UNIT): Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of California.  Ability to assess the age specific needs of the patients per unit population.  BCLS required.  Management Assaultive Behavior (MAB) is required within 90 days of hire.

 MENTAL HEALTH WORKER – FULL TIME, NOC SHIFT: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred experience in mental health setting.  Motivated to be directly involved with patients.  Effective verbal and written communication in English.  BCLS required.
